Some are excellent WordPress development agencies, such as Whodunit, a major contributor to WordPress core, or AmphiBee, but have no SEO offer of their own; others have a generic "SEO WordPress" page, with no method or case study. SEOPress is a plugin publisher, not an agency. Several agencies publish their own "top WordPress SEO agencies" list where they rank themselves first: we only used these to find names, never as a source. Agence KN, NEWP and Galopins have a serious WordPress SEO offer and affordable prices, but publish too few results for this top 10. ## What a WordPress SEO agency must master WordPress powers a large part of the web and tolerates a lot of rough edges. A site can look clean while sending Google contradictory signals. Here is what a specialized agency checks first. Configuration ### The SEO plugin Yoast SEO, Rank Math or SEOPress: the tool matters less than its settings. Default titles, indexed archives and sitemaps that list useless pages are the most common errors. Structure ### Archives and URLs Tags, author archives, date archives and attachment pages create thin pages. They should be deindexed or turned into genuinely useful pages. Performance ### The theme and caching A heavy theme or a page builder slows the site down. Caching, resized images and scripts loaded on demand fix most of it. Content ### The internal mesh Blog articles and service pages often ignore each other. Well-planned internal linking passes authority from content to the pages that generate leads. ## How do you choose a WordPress SEO agency? **WordPress agency or SEO agency?** WordPress agencies design and build sites; the best ones know technical SEO very well. SEO agencies go further on content strategy and link building. If your site needs to be rebuilt, a WordPress agency with a real SEO culture is a good fit.
