Updated on **6 October 2026** · Selection and methodology detailed below

**A GEO consultant helps a brand get cited and recommended in the answers of generative AI: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, as well as Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode.** The profession is new, profiles are multiplying, and so are the promises. We have selected ten GEO consultants in France whose work is verifiable: a public method, dated results or recognised standing in the SEO community.

This ranking is followed by what you need to know before choosing: what a GEO consultant actually does, the questions to ask them, and how much support costs in 2026.

## The 10 best GEO consultants in France

1

## [Léo Poitevin](https://astrak.agency/en/geo-agency/)

Founder of Astrak · GEO and SEO, competitive sectors

Léo Poitevin has been doing SEO for ten years: iGaming affiliation in Malta, then Head of SEO at GreenTomatoMedia and Techopedia, before founding Astrak, the SEO and GEO agency he runs today. He learnt the trade where competition is toughest, and it shows in the way he approaches GEO: measure first, act second, and only present as achieved what has been recorded and dated.

On the GEO side, he has built a protocol at Astrak that starts with a panel of business queries recorded on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, followed by a citation log and AI traffic tracking in GA4. The published results stem from it: [Inter-Car](https://astrak.agency/en/intercar/), a vehicle scrapper that became the first brand cited by ChatGPT on its query, with sessions from AI up 72%; [Slidor](https://astrak.agency/en/use-case-slidor/), a presentation agency that went from 5% to 21% of AI answers on the US market in three months; Epargnoo and Homelike Home, cited in ChatGPT answers on their target queries.

He shares his tests in a newsletter followed by more than 5,500 readers, gave a GEO talk at Black Hat Day in March 2026, and is one of the Ahrefs ambassadors. He also co-founded the link-building platform Linkavista, a useful lever in GEO since AI engines rely heavily on third-party sources.

#### Strengths

- Measurement-led approach: query panel, citation log, AI traffic tracked in GA4.
- Published and dated GEO results, with their source.
- Experience in highly competitive sectors (iGaming, finance, SaaS).
- A team behind him for execution: technical, content, link building.

#### Points to watch

- Works through the agency: no pure freelance assignments.
- Starting budget of €900 per month, above a one-off audit.

[See his LinkedIn profile](https://www.linkedin.com/in/leo-poitevin/)2

## [Paul Vengeons](https://www.paulvengeons.fr/freelance-geo)

Freelance GEO consultant · answer engines

Paul Vengeons positioned himself early on GEO, with a freelance offer dedicated to brand visibility in answer engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. He is also known in the French-speaking SEO community for the MVP podcast, which he co-hosts with Antoine Veyrières.

His approach follows a clear logic: analysis of the brand’s conversational queries, rewriting content so that it gets picked up by AI engines, optimisation of structured data and monitoring of model behaviour. He is one of the few consultants to publish his prices: from €800 to €2,000 per month depending on complexity, over a typical period of three to six months.

#### Strengths

- A genuine GEO specialisation, not a line added to an SEO offer.
- Rates and engagement length published openly.
- Very active in the community: podcast, content, industry watch.

#### Points to watch

- Solo freelancer: limited capacity for large multi-market accounts.
- Few client cases named publicly.

[See his GEO offer](https://www.paulvengeons.fr/freelance-geo)3

## [Nicolas Sanchez](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sancheznicolas-lyon)

Technical SEO consultant at Astrak · data and AI tracking

Nicolas Sanchez is a technical SEO consultant at Astrak, specialising in crawling, Core Web Vitals and Google Analytics. In GEO, he is the profile who handles what many overlook: a page that AI crawlers explore poorly, that loads its content in JavaScript or whose structured data is incomplete stands little chance of being cited, however well it is written.

He also works on measurement: a GA4 channel grouping that isolates visits from AI assistants, tracking of assisted conversions, and AI Overviews monitoring since their arrival in France in July 2026. This is the part that lets you tell the client what GEO brings them, and not just where they are cited.

#### Strengths

- Dual technical and analytics expertise, rare among GEO profiles.
- Works on measuring AI traffic and assisted conversions.
- Backed by a team for content and link building.

#### Points to watch

- Works within Astrak, not as a freelancer.
- Technical profile: less focused on public speaking and public content.

[See his LinkedIn profile](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sancheznicolas-lyon)4

## [Guillaume Girod](https://en.malt.fr/profile/guillaumegirod)

Freelance SEO and GEO consultant · Lyon

Guillaume Girod has been a freelance SEO consultant in Lyon since 2017. He worked with several well-known SEO agencies before going independent, and today works on audits, link building, content strategy and GEO.

What sets him apart is a hands-on approach: he runs and documents his own tests on how ChatGPT and Perplexity choose their sources, and looks closely at the retrieval mechanisms (RAG) that determine which passages of a page a model will pick up. A good option for a company that wants an experienced contact, able to explain why a recommendation works.

#### Strengths

- Test-driven, documented approach.
- Experience in competitive sectors and link building.
- A single, senior point of contact.

#### Points to watch

- Freelancer: availability to be checked depending on the period.
- Rates not published.

[See his Malt profile](https://en.malt.fr/profile/guillaumegirod)5

## [Ryan Abbaz](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-abbaz)

Team Lead at Astrak · SEO and GEO project management

Ryan Abbaz is Team Lead at Astrak, where he manages clients’ SEO and GEO projects day to day. A GEO project rarely fails on theory: it fails when content doesn’t get published, when third-party sources aren’t approached, or when nobody reviews the citation reports from one month to the next. That is precisely his role.

In practice, he sets up the query panel with the client, coordinates page production and presence in third-party sources with the consultants, and reports the indicators every month in the same report as SEO: mentions, citations, share of voice and AI-driven traffic.

#### Strengths

- Operational management: actions get delivered, on schedule.
- GEO reporting integrated into SEO tracking, readable by a board.
- Coordination of a multidisciplinary team.

#### Points to watch

- More of a management profile than pure research.
- Works within Astrak, not as a freelancer.

[See his LinkedIn profile](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-abbaz)6

## [Lucio Laria](https://agenceonze.fr/)

Founder of Agence Onze · SEO and GEO, senior team

Lucio Laria founded Agence Onze, an SEO and GEO agency built on a simple principle: senior consultants only, with no middle-management layer. The agency covers audits, link building, copywriting, redesigns, GEO and AI search, with specialities in SaaS, e-commerce, media and B2B lead generation. Its clients include Superprof and Sortlist.

The agency publishes its day rate, €650 for a senior profile, and claims around ten in-house tools. A solid option for a company that wants the depth of a team without going through a large organisation.

#### Strengths

- Entirely senior team.
- Day rate published.
- SEO and GEO handled together, with in-house tools.

#### Points to watch

- Compact structure: limited client capacity.
- Less suited to very large multi-country accounts.

[Visit Agence Onze](https://agenceonze.fr/)7

## [Emmanuel de Vauxmoret](https://uplix.fr/)

CEO of Uplix · Search, paid and data, AI and GEO unit

Emmanuel de Vauxmoret runs Uplix, a Paris agency that brings SEO, paid media and data together in a single approach, with a unit dedicated to AI and GEO services for visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. He also teaches at an engineering school.

The agency works with leading brands, including MAAF, Logitech, K-Way and KPMG. This is the profile to consider for an organisation that wants to handle AI visibility with the same teams and the same reporting as its paid campaigns.

#### Strengths

- Integrated SEO, GEO, paid and data set-up.
- Used to large accounts and their constraints.
- Dedicated AI and GEO unit.

#### Points to watch

- Large-account agency budgets, poorly suited to small businesses.
- Rates not public.

## [Guillaume Serre](https://www.malt.fr/profile/guillaumeserre)

Freelance SEO and GEO consultant · Marseille

Guillaume Serre is a freelance SEO and GEO consultant in Marseille. According to his profile, he has helped more than 150 brands over five years become visible on Google, then in AI engines. He is also a speaker and content creator on SEO news.

His Malt profile shows a rating of 5 from 25 client reviews and a day rate of €500, making him one of the most affordable experienced consultants in this selection. A good choice for an SME that wants to get started with GEO with a direct point of contact.

#### Strengths

- Broad experience: more than 150 brands supported.
- Public client reviews and published rate.
- Very active in industry watch and public speaking.

#### Points to watch

- Solo freelancer: limited capacity for large volumes.
- Few quantified GEO cases published.

[See his Malt profile](https://www.malt.fr/profile/guillaumeserre)9

## [Florian Escobar](https://www.malt.com/profile/florianescobar)

Freelance SEO and GEO consultant · e-commerce and SaaS

Florian Escobar is a freelance SEO consultant in the Lyon area, after several years at Semji, the SEO content software company, where he supported clients. He has specialised in e-commerce and SaaS.

His approach is directly compatible with GEO: structuring the site and its content so that they become the obvious answer to customers’ questions, whether the question is asked to Google or to an AI assistant. A relevant profile for an online shop or a software publisher that wants content-focused support.

#### Strengths

- Software-vendor experience (Semji) in content strategy.
- Specialised in e-commerce and SaaS.
- Pragmatic approach, focused on customers’ questions.

#### Points to watch

- Freelancer: limited capacity.
- Rates not published.

[See his Malt profile](https://www.malt.com/profile/florianescobar)10

## [Adrien Beaujeu](https://www.webitics.fr/)

SEO and GEO consultant at Webitics · technical and link building

Adrien Beaujeu is an SEO consultant at Webitics, a Lyon agency founded in 2017, where he combines technical SEO, link building, content production and optimisation for generative engines. He also works independently on one-off assignments.

He supports clients in a range of sectors: e-commerce, tourism, B2B, lead generation and e-learning. His approach to GEO starts from the SEO foundation, which is the right logic: Google’s AI Overviews draw their sources from Google’s index, and a poorly ranked site is rarely cited.

#### Strengths

- Complete SEO foundation: technical, link building, content.
- Backed by an experienced agency.
- Multi-sector experience.

#### Points to watch

- GEO built into the SEO offer rather than offered separately.
- Rates not public.

## What a GEO consultant does

GEO, short for Generative Engine Optimization, is about making a brand an answer that AI engines pick up. Whereas traditional SEO aims for a position in a list of links, GEO aims for a mention in generated text: the brand’s name written in the answer, and ideally its page cited among the sources. The two disciplines share the same foundation, because generative engines rely largely on pages that are already indexed and ranking well.

A serious GEO audit always follows the same steps:

Step 1

### A query panel

The questions your customers actually ask AI engines: comparisons, recommendations, problems to solve. This is the basis of all measurement.

Step 2

### An answer log

Each query is run on several engines, at regular intervals, to find out whether the brand is named, in what position and with what source. This gives a citation rate, tracked month by month.

Step 3

### The source map

The pages that AI engines cite instead of you: comparisons, media, forums, competitor sites. These are the targets for off-site work.

Step 4

### The action plan

A prioritised action plan: pages to create or rewrite so they can be cited, structured data, presence in third-party sources, and AI traffic tracking in GA4.

On the tools side, consultants rely on AI answer-tracking platforms such as Qwairy or MentionLab, on data from Ahrefs or Semrush, and on manual checks to verify what the tools report. Our comparison of the [best GEO tools](https://astrak.agency/en/best-geo-tools/) covers them in detail.

## The skills of a good GEO expert

A GEO expert combines three areas of expertise. First, they need a foundation in traditional SEO, because search engines and LLMs (large language models) alike only cite pages they can find, understand and consider reliable. Next, they must understand how artificial intelligence models work. Finally, they think in marketing terms: where does the brand need to appear for AI engines to recommend it?

Foundation

### Traditional SEO

SEO audit, technical optimisation, internal linking, Schema.org structured data, website authority. Without this foundation, both organic traffic and citations remain low.

Understanding

### How LLMs work

How a retrieval algorithm chooses its passages, why a rephrased prompt changes the answer, what intent lies behind a conversational question.

Strategy

### Content and presence

Creating pages with complete semantic coverage, presence in comparisons, media, blogs, forums and on LinkedIn, and tracking the citation rate over time.

Be wary of profiles that only talk about prompts and AI tools: without optimising the site itself, the new answers generated by Google AI Overviews and other engines will keep citing your competitors.

## How to choose your GEO consultant

The market is young, and it is easy to dress up a standard SEO service in AI vocabulary. Four questions are enough to sort the wheat from the chaff.

### How do you measure my presence?

The answer should describe a query panel, the engines tested, a frequency and a dated baseline. Without an initial measurement, no progress can be demonstrated.

### What results have you already achieved?

Ask for cases with a time period and a source: a screenshot of a report, AI traffic in GA4. A percentage with no date or measurement tool proves nothing.

### What do you do outside my site?

AI engines often cite comparisons, media and forums rather than the brand’s own site. A consultant who only works on your pages is only doing half the job.

### Do you promise a result?

Be wary of “guaranteed results” and certifications with official-sounding names: no AI vendor certifies consultants, and nobody controls a model’s answers.

**Freelancer or agency?** A freelancer is well suited to a first audit or to a single-market brand that wants a single point of contact. A team becomes useful as soon as you need to produce a lot of content, approach third-party sources and track several markets in parallel. To compare organisations, see our [ranking of GEO agencies](https://astrak.agency/en/best-geo-agencies/), et pour le référencement classique, celui des [best SEO consultants](https://astrak.agency/en/best-seo-consultant/).

## How much does a GEO consultant cost?

€500 to €750per day, for experienced freelancers

€800 to €2,000per month, for ongoing support

Rates observed in 2026 range from €500 to €750 per day for an experienced freelance GEO consultant. Monthly engagements most often fall between €800 and €2,000 per month over three to six months. The budget depends mainly on the size of the query panel, the number of markets and the volume of content to produce.

At Astrak, SEO and GEO support starts at €900 per month, and our clients invest €2,000 per month on average. Full details of the offer are on our page [GEO Agency](https://astrak.agency/en/geo-agency/).

## Ranking Methodology

This ranking is an editorial selection, based on our knowledge of the market, our professional exchanges and what each consultant publishes. It is not an objective measurement, and we do not give a numerical score: for each one, we describe what we consider to be their strengths and limitations.

**Three of the ten profiles, Léo Poitevin, Nicolas Sanchez and Ryan Abbaz, work at Astrak, which publishes this ranking.** We say so to allow you to take it into account. No consultant listed paid to be included.

#### Actual specialization

GEO practised as a profession, with a method, and not just mentioned in a list of services.

#### What is verifiable

Published method, dated results, published rates or public client reviews.

#### SEO foundation

The ability to handle technical and traditional SEO, without which a site is rarely cited.

#### Recognition

Presence and contributions in the French-speaking SEO community.

## Our opinion

#### If you want a team and measured results

**Léo Poitevin** and the Astrak team, or **Lucio Laria** at Agence Onze for a senior, compact structure.

#### If you prefer a specialist freelancer

**Paul Vengeons** for pure GEO, **Guillaume Girod** for the test-driven approach, **Guillaume Serre** to get started on a controlled budget.

#### If you are a large account

**Emmanuel de Vauxmoret** and Uplix, to manage GEO, SEO and advertising within a single set-up.

## Frequently asked questions about GEO consultants

### Who are the best GEO consultants in France?

Our 2026 selection: Léo Poitevin (Astrak), Paul Vengeons, Nicolas Sanchez (Astrak), Guillaume Girod, Ryan Abbaz (Astrak), Lucio Laria (Agence Onze), Emmanuel de Vauxmoret (Uplix), Guillaume Serre, Florian Escobar and Adrien Beaujeu (Webitics). The best choice depends on your size, your markets and your budget.

### What is the difference between SEO and GEO?

SEO aims for a position in Google's results. GEO aims for a mention in AI-generated answers. Both share the same foundation: a well-crawled site, clear content and authority built on third-party sources.

### What services does a GEO consultant offer?

An audit of the brand’s presence in AI engines, a map of the sources cited in its place, rewriting pages so they can be cited, structured data, presence in third-party sources and tracking of AI traffic.

### How do you get cited by AI engines?

By publishing pages that directly answer your customers’ questions, with dated and sourced facts, by being present in the comparisons and media that AI engines consult, and by keeping a solid SEO foundation. We detail the method in [becoming a source for LLMs](https://astrak.agency/en/become-a-source-for-llms/).

### How much does a GEO consultant cost?

From €500 to €750 per day for an experienced freelancer, and most often €800 to €2,000 per month for ongoing support. At Astrak, support starts at €900 per month.

### Is a GEO consultant useful for a small business or a startup?

Yes, if your customers already put their questions to AI before contacting you, which is the case in most B2B, consulting and software sectors. For a small or medium-sized business, a one-off GEO audit followed by a few months of optimisation is often enough to cover the need. A startup launching a new product category, on the other hand, should work on its presence in AI engines from the outset, before the answers become fixed.

### How do you become a GEO consultant?

Most GEO consultants come from SEO, with no dedicated training: you need to master technical and editorial SEO, understand how models select their sources, and know how to measure their answers over time. Practice counts for more than certifications, which do not officially exist in this field.
